| In looking at the race results and dividing out swim times by rates, I make the swim course about 200 yds short. Is that true? |

okbowen ~
I am not sure I caught which day you raced; Saturday or Sunday. When the course is marked, it doesn't include the ramp exit. As you know, marking open water venues dead on - is difficult at best. Having said that, it is possible the course could have been short, but not at all likely either day's course would have been 200 meters short. On Saturday we might have been somewhere between 50-90 meters short in the worst case. It is so difficult to judge times in open water from year to year, given wind, wave condition, lighting, sighting, other athletes, and other differentials. As you know, the most important factor is that all athletes did the same course. I hope this helps.
